The College Basketball Study Abroad
“Guy is not only a good basketball coach but a good friend. Our experiences with USA Basketball over the last several years have shown he teaches the game the right way. It makes me happy to know Guy is continuing to educate young men on and off the court.”
“Guy Rancourt is really one of the unsung heroes in the game of basketball. The development opportunities he provides young players across the country is a real credit to him.”
"I was ecstatic being able to help college basketball's future superstars develop with Guy and USA East Coast."
Founded in the summer of 2006 by Guy Rancourt, USA East Coast (formerly East Coast All Stars) has become college basketball's unofficial study abroad program. Rancourt's organization has introduced the world of international professional and national team basketball to college basketball's best and brightest stars for over a decade. USA East Coast has represented the United States in 15 different countries and collaborated with USA Basketball to help prepare for international play. The majority of Rancourt’s players have taken full advantage of this cultural and educational experience, with many of them successfully going back overseas for professional careers.
Each year its teams descend upon New York City for a two-day training camp prior to departing for their destination. While abroad, the team will take part in guided tours, learn more about the local culture, participate in youth clinics, and compete against the best teams each nation has to offer.
In addition to East Coast's global success of alumni playing overseas, Rancourt’s organization has had numerous players go on to the NBA as both players, coaches, and front office personnel.
“My international experience with Coach Rancourt really helped me transition into my current role.”
- Jeff Peterson, current Assistant GM of the Brooklyn Nets and one of the NBA's most sought-after future GM's.
